REVEAL WHAT'S INSIDE THE MATERIAL
PTSPL’s radiographic inspections are performed to bring confidence to you and end-users with compliance with established global standards. Our radiograph experts can provide consultation and optimise radiography results for specimens of different materials, shapes, and sizes based on the required test method. Rest assured that there will be no discrepancies.
Radiographic testing is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method which uses either x-rays or gamma rays to reveal internal, surface and sub-surface irregularities in the internal structure of manufactured components. The technique is commonly used on welded parts, castings, forgings, and composites and is also used for corrosion mapping and wall thickness measurement. Volumetric inspection detects defects that are not open to the surface.
Professional Testing Service performs radiographic testing of materials for quality control during the manufacturing, welding and volumetric inspections of components, castings etc.
Radiographic inspection uses an isotope or an x-ray tube to create an image.
X-rays are produced by an X-ray tube and gamma rays are produced by an isotope.
The technique is commonly used on welded parts, castings, forgings, composites and is also used for corrosion mapping and the measurement of wall thickness.
Volumetric inspection detects defects which are not open to the surface, and which may not otherwise be detectable.
CASE STUDY :
Client Introduction:
Customers doing 3D printing and AM
Problem:
In the current industry, as part of working for the 3D printing and additive manufacturing industries, various samples have a range of thickness.
Solution:
Whenever volumetric tests are to be considered, first off, when it comes to industrial radiography with film, there’s always a need to see where the film is to be placed. Ideally, the film placed would be almost in contact with the part. However, more often than not, it’s not the case. Different parameters govern how the shot must be taken, meeting the requirements of the specification and code. PTS will access the situation and job and do what needs to be done to fulfil as much as required.
